As The Onion said, "This week, Jesus."
Depending on where you live, it has just been a week full of shitty stories. Here in North Texas, plenty of bad things happened, in concurrence with Boston.
On Monday, a man killed his pregnant girlfriend and their unborn child, and then holed himself up for five hours. An hour later, the bombs in Boston went off, killing three, and a injuring 180+.
On Wednesday, letters were sent containing ricin to the President and a senator from Mississippi. Also on that day, here in North Texas, the wife of a former Justice of the Peace was arrested and so was her husband, after the wife ratted him out to the murder of a county district attorney and prosecutor. Not to mention, the failure of the Senate to pass a bill expanding background checks.
Later Wednesday, a fertilizer plant in West, just north of Waco, exploded, killing first responders and others, totalling 15 casualties. Television stations in the D/FW area kept at it, with some not even taking commercial breaks.
On Thursday, the MIT officer was killed, along with one of the suspects of the Boston bombings.
Then on Friday, the younger suspect was captured.
A good ending to a fucking terrible week if I say so.
