Why My School's Sports Team Sucks

At my high school, which I won't name, our sport teams suck balls. And that's more justified than you think. And don't take me wrong, I don't mean to bad mouth these people. God knows I can't run up and down a field for 15 minutes or get tackled by a 210-pound linebacker and go on like nothing happened, but it goes without saying that we aren't too good.

For example, here are the list of wins and losses of our football team for the past seven years:

• '04 - '05: 1 win, 9 losses (Avg score: 37 - 9)
• '05 - '06: 0 wins, 10 losses (Avg. score: 39 - 9)
• '06 - '07: 4 wins, 6 losses (Avg. score: 30 - 15)
• '07 - '08: 2 wins, 8 losses (Avg. score: 30 - 12)
• '08 - '09: 1 win, 9 losses (Avg. score: 31 - 15)
• '09 - '10: 2 wins, 10 losses (Avg. score: 30 - 13)
• '10 - '11: 2 wins, 8 losses(Avg. score: 48 - 21)
Note: Visitors left; Home right

Now, the reason why I point all this out is that because of this, no one goes to the games. And if no one goes, the team shows no fury to opponents. And if we lose, people think the team sucks and don't go to any of their games. It's a terrible cycle that cannot be stopped unless one of those two things is fixed.

I wish that our student body would get a little more excited about games, or about the team. Of course, their advertised on the video announcements, but I feel that if there was some incentive, like you know, some dollar day or something. The thing is, that if no one speaks up about this, then this will only continue, and if we have learned anything from the Dallas Mavericks winning the 2011 NBA Championships, the thing that will help the team win is having the fans behind them, and going to their games.

But again, it's all about personal opinion. (And what the school can afford with these Texas budget cuts.)

The most attended game of the season: North v. South

We lost, 50 - 7.
