Suburbia: Cedar Hill - ROCT

In June 2014, I decided to come up a photojournal that took me to various parts of my home, the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. The size of Connecticut and Rhode Island and home to 6.5 million people, there's a lot between the highways and skyscrapers.

Dallas County, my homestead and the most urban county in this part of Texas. I'm spending the next three weeks here in Cedar Hill, house-sitting for a teacher friend while she visits relatives in Canada. Makes me feel like a "real" adult, a provides a taste of self-sufficiency. While I'm here, I decided to take a look around, now that I can drive.

North2Denton PhotoJournal - Part Four

7PM. Ninety-five degrees.

The A-Train arrived at Carrollton just before 6:55PM. The sun was lower in the sky now; you could venture outdoors without burning to death. The light rail station was busy with people getting off the A-Train, waiting for the northbound Green Line train to come up from downtown.

North 2 Denton: A PhotoJournal - Part Three

Out in the wild, I had nowhere to go.

Instead of taking my chances in Greater Denton, I stayed close. Walking parallel to Oak Street, I looked in the windows of the shops on the northern end of the Square. Window-shopping is no fun when it’s just you and the knowledge that you’re broke as fuck.

North to Denton: A PhotoJournal - Part Two

It's 11.45AM. 90F. And we have a walk... uphill. Jesus H. Christ.

North to Denton: A PhotoJournal - Part One

Let's start this post off right. The frick is Denton at?

It's 40 miles north of the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area. Right at the border between metropolitan and rural North Texas.

Georgia V

"It says it's here, but it's not."

Downtown

Alyssa thought it would be great to go out and explore what we could in Columbus for the short time we were there. So around 9PM or so, we went out in search of any hookah bar in the city. She found one, close to the waterfront, in historic downtown Columbus.

Georgia, Pt. II

As we slowly made our way through East Texas, the music being piped in through the car's satellite radio got to Alyssa and her sister.

(East) Texas... cont'd

I fell asleep some 15 miles into Kaufman County.

I awoke an hour later, around 9 AM, to the car slowing down and coming to a stop. I heard Gloria talking, and checking on the kids in the back. When it came my turn to be visually-analyzed, she called out my name.

"Eddie-wedy... Eddie-wedy..."

Georgia, Pt. I

One of my longest friendships has been with this girl named Alyssa, and her on-and-off again boyfriend of four years, Reynaldo.

I met them both during my freshman year in high school, where a little less weird version of me egged on of them on to get with the other. I believe it was Rey to her, but so much time has passed, I can't quite recall. As their relationship blossomed, so did my friendship with them. Things got much closer during my junior year, when I had classes with both of them.

Tunnels

Tunneling your way to my heart

In early May, I got in touch with an old high school friend of mine, Blake.

After some computer repair, we got to talking, and he let me photograph him a few days later. Since then, we've been hanging out, and the day after the photo shoot, I went out with some of his friends.

Security Guard Josh V

THE FOLLOWING POST CONTAINS PARAPHRASING
AND MAY NOT ACCURATELY REFLECT WHAT WAS SAID

Around 7:30, I got a text from Mike and Cynthia wondering if I'd like to go to a park. Juggling their offer and someone else's I chose them.

They arrived promptly and we left around 8 PM, listening to a mix tape I had made with my stereo.

Security Guard Josh V: Epilogue

Enjoy this before you read...

You very might well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

In late January, I wrote about Security Guard Josh, a security guard at a local supermarket that looked a lot like my Josh. Of course, after seeing him for the first time in January, I didn't see him for about a month or so.

University Press XXVIII

Coming earlier than usual.

Take that CNN.

I have just been terrible on putting UP out lately. But today, I decided to do it early.

Edwardian Burlesque

It's not what I thought it was going to be.

Today is Friday, and usually, there are nice things to be found at yard sales.

From March 22nd...

This past Friday, my dad wanted fish for dinner. So around 1 PM, we headed to this huge Asian market in the southern part of my town.

Fort Worth: A Public Transport Odyssey, Part III

Part three of FW:APTO

Now with a sandwich tucked in my duffle bag, I walked back to the platform from the Subway.

As I walked, there was now a gaggle of people waiting on the platform.

Fort Worth: A Public Transport Odyssey, Part II

Oh bro! BRO.

Part two of FW:APTO

After leaving the bus, I walked south on McKinley.

Fort Worth: A Public Transport Odyssey

Oh, wrong school bro.
Oh, wrong bus bro.

**Long post ahead**

One thing that I'll admit is good is public transportation. Anyone can ride it to get where they need to go.

How I Met Your Cigarette

From my Tumblr page

[A few weeks ago, I had run into my friends Mike and Cynthia in a Kroger supermarket near my house. I hadn't seen either of them since we graduated, so we made a dinner date. After our meal, we hung out a little bit, and ended up walking in front of a Buddhist temple near their home.]
